Kayla was born and raised in New Jersey, but relocated to South Carolina, and has lived in the Greenville area the past 8 years. She has always had a passion for other cultures and learning more about the world. She received an Associate in Arts from Spartanburg Methodist College, then attended the College of Charleston, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with a minor in Theatre.
While at the College of Charleston, Kayla was fortunate enough to travel Internationally. The ability to participate in a summer philanthropy project where she worked on a sustainable farm in Ireland, further sparked her love for discovering and interacting with people from vastly different backgrounds and upbringings. From there she wanted to further pursue her education Internationally and was able to spend a semester studying at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. While residing in student housing, she had the opportunity to be immersed in the culture, and surrounded by peers from many different countries. While in the Netherlands, Kayla was also able to explore several other countries, including Iceland, Belgium, Germany, Italy, France, and the United Kingdom.
After college, Kayla started her career in Social Work and then gained extensive experience in Human Resources. She was fortunate enough to be able to combine her HR background and love of international relations, while working in recruitment for the International Rescue Committee. Being able to assist with Afghan resettlement efforts, was a highlight of her career and once again gave her the opportunity to interact and engage with people from very diverse backgrounds and experiences.
When she discovered BDV Solutions she was very excited to be able to continue the work she loves locally, by helping others, especially our international clients, to achieve their goals through opportunities to better not only their own futures, but their families as well.
Kayla has recently rediscovered her love of the Arts by performing at the Greenville Theatre. In her free time, she also loves to cook, read, travel, and be with friends. When she is not working, Kayla can often be found hanging out and relaxing with her fur babies.
Kayla is grateful to BDV for the opportunity to continue to gain experience and knowledge in not only international issues, but also the immigration process as a whole.
