Brooke moved several times growing up, spending time in various parts of the US and Haiti. The opportunity to travel sparked an interest in the incredible variety of cultures throughout the world, both past and present. She has had opportunities to participate in archaeological excavations and is fascinated by anthropology generally. Brooke received a bachelor’s degree in cultural anthropology at Sewanee: The University of the South. She continued her studies at Binghamton University where her research focus was transnationalism and migration. 

Brooke moved to South Carolina in 2022 to be near family and is loving life in the upstate. She has a cat named Persephone and loves to knit in her free time.
