Ben is originally from Michigan but has lived half of his life in the Carolinas. He studied philosophy at Indiana Wesleyan University and, after graduating, started working for various non-profits. In 2016 Ben and his wife moved to Vienna, Austria to work with a non-profit in response to the refugee crisis of 2015. After living three years in Vienna, Ben and his wife returned to upstate South Carolina. Ben then earned a paralegal certificate from Duke University and began working in immigration law. Ben is now attending law school part-time at the University of Dayton School of Law.
Ben and his wife have two small dogs and enjoy spending time with family and reading. Ben is fluent in English, Spanish, and German.
